You will fill out and file the Petition there. You will then need to call the Clerk's Office at 815-544-0371 and choose the Civil Department. We will need your receipt number for your petition you filled out and we will take down a safe phone number so we can call you back shortly. 

After we gather some papwork we will call you back to finish filling out a few things over the phone. We will then try to get a Judge availble to hear your case and will give you a time at which your Order of Protection case will be heard. 

Once we give you a time, please try to be availble in a safe location and next to the phone with the number you gave us when the Judge calls you. Copies will be availbe to you after court for either pick up or email.

If the Respondant lives outside of Boone County, you may need to get copies of the paperwork to the sheriffs department of that county! If the Respondant lives in Boone County, we will take the paperwork to get them served.

If you cannot fill one out online or would prefer to be in person, please feel free to come into the Circuit Clerk's Office in the Boone County and pick up an Order of Protection Packet. We are located at the Court House at 601 N Main Street in Belvidere Illinois. 

**Please note that all Order of Protection cases are secured until service has been made. If you call to ask questions on a case that is secured, we cannot talk about it. You would need to come in with a photo ID.**
